LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School! Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes this fall. Our cross country recipient this week is LaVille junior Aaron Platz. He was nominated by coach Erin Ecker. We had a minute to catch up with Aaron to talk about how the season is going so far. "It has been going pretty good so far," said Platz. "We don't have a huge team this year, but the runners we do have are really strong. "I am hoping to get faster. It has been a lot warmer, so hopefully with some cooler temperatures to get faster and train harder." Platz and his Lancer teammates will be participating in the New Prairie Invitational on September 20, the Indiana Northern State Conference Championships at Tippecanoe Valley on October 11, and the IHSAA Goshen Sectional at Ox Box Park on October 18. "We have some pretty good competition coming up," noted Platz. "So I look forward to running well and improving." When asked about the Jersey Mike's Subs recognition, Aaron said, "I didn't really know about this program, but I am really excited to go to Jersey Mike's Subs. It is one of my favorite places to eat.
