LAKEVILLE - As the IHSAA football season turns the page to week four of the regular season, rivals Bremen and LaVille reintroduce themselves on the gridiron for the 57th meeting in the series. The Lions lead the all-time series, 39-17. BHS controlled much of the series prior to 2014. There was a brief interruption until the series resumed in 2019. LaVille has won the last nine straight meetings dating back to 2014. "We will see a Bremen team that believes in what they are doing and will be hard nosed the entire game," said LaVille head coach Jeff Kaiser. "They have size and speed so they can hurt you either way on both sides of the ball." Friday's kick is scheduled for 7pm ET from Lancer Field. The Bremen-LaVille high school football game can be viewed via live-streamed by clicking https://www.ihsaatv.org/LHSLancers/  MAX 98.3FM will be providing the audio feed. Pregame is scheduled for 6:30pm Bremen is 1-2 overall coming off a 39-0 victory over Boone Grove at Don J. Bunge Field last week. Coach Justin Bogunia, a coaching colleague and friend to Kaiser, will send seven players as probable two-way starters, including QB Jack Wildauer, running back Brayden Pearish, receivers Nic Slusser and Derek Miller.  Also expected to pull double duty are Dakota Hickey, and Logan Hendrickson.  "Each of those guys are just some from Bremen that can hurt us come Friday," noted Kaiser. LaVille is 2-1 overall following a 42-9 victory over Central Noble a week ago. And, as both teams prepare for September 12, there is one thing for sure.  The teams are familiar with each other and so are the coaches. Both Kaiser and Bogunia have been around the game for quite some time now and according to Kaiser are good friends. "Coach Bogunia and I have coached together for around 20 years, and we have had a ton of success together, so we know what one another expects out of their respectful teams," explained the Lancer boss.  "I have a ton of respect for him and we are good friends away from the game as well.  For 48 minutes come Friday we know it's going to be war and it's a time where we put our friendship aside and go to battle.  It's going to be a fun one that's for sure!" Though Bremen leads the series 9-6 in games played at Lancer Field since 1994, LaVille has won the last four straight in Lakeville. So there are plenty of motivation lines in Friday's expected battle. The last Bremen win at LHS was a 42-15 decision on September 21, 2012.  "We are going to have to play 48 minutes, not give up the big play nor can we have them grind out long drives," Kaiser said of the week four opponent.  "We must slow their solid running game down.  On Offense we need to be able to sustain drives and move the sticks consistently and in doing so, a balanced attack is a must.  Special Teams will be a big factor as well in field position throughout the night ..." Indiana is at the one-third mark of the season, so we asked Kaiser about his team heading into Friday's INSC and neighborhood bout.   "So far to this point this TEAM plays together and with a ton of heart," said Kaiser, now 19-9 in his third season at LaVille.  "As we head into this solid INSC schedule, we must improve everyday in order to put our best product on the field every Friday night.  If we continue improving and understanding schemes and assignments, we will put ourselves in a great position to be successful." LaVille continues to utilize a variety of players on offense, defense, and special teams so far this season, as the Lancers prepare to open conference play and celebrate homecoming. "It's Homecoming ... Its BREMEN ... doesn't get much better for a Friday under the lights," closed Kaiser.  "Our team hopes for a big and loud crowd as we take on our neighbors to the east.  GO BLUE!!!"
