GOSHEN - The baseball team traveled to Fairfield Monday for a non-conference game. For the third consecutive outing, it was a pitcher's duel, from the first pitch until the teams came off the field. LaVille's Brayden Schwitz tossed five complete innings, striking out six, allowing just three hits and two earned runs to suffer the loss. Fairfield was led by Andrew Bailey, who tossed a bit over five innings, registering three strikeouts and seven hits and no earned runs. LHS outhit the Falcons 7-3, with six different Lancers logging a hit. Sean Kubsch was credited with the lone LaVille run batted in with an RBI groundout in the top of the 5th inning. Coach Brian Lawler's club left six men on base during its third straight one-run decision. Fairfield stranded four runners. Lawler's crew evened its overall record to 6-6 and will get set for a 2-game series against INSC foe John Glenn on May 8 and 9. Both games are scheduled for a 5:30pm start.
