LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School! Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes from baseball, boys golf, boys track and field, girls tennis, girls track and field, and softball. Our girls track and field recipient this week is LaVille senior Reagan Mitchell. She was nominated by coach Erin Ecker "Reagan Mitchell was a big contributor to our two wins last week," said coach Ecker. "Mitchell contributed two blue ribbons with her back-to-back pole vault wins. She finished the week with a one foot season PR." We had a minute to catch up with Reagan and ask her how things were going so far this season for her and the LaVille girls track and field team. "Going pretty well so far," said the senior standout. "I think we are all progressing pretty well so far this season." According to Reagan, she, "... just started pole vaulting last year. The process is, it's kind of an addicting sport. It's something you definitely have to be mentally tough for because you kind of get into slumps to hit that six inch mark each time you hit a height." Like some of her Lancer teammates so far, Mitchell is very thankful to Jersey Mike's Subs for the acknowledgement. "I really appreciate it.
