LAKEVILLE - We are excited to team together with Jersey Mike's Subs as they sponsor a Player of the Week at LaVille High School! Coaches and LaVille Athletic Department personnel will select various student-athletes from baseball, boys golf, boys track and field, girls tennis, girls track and field, and softball. Our softball recipient this week is LaVille freshman Caydence Pena. She was nominated by coach Garrett McBride. According to coach McBride, Pena scored six runs, drew four base on balls and had a perfect fielding percentage last week. "It's been going good," said Pena, who plays left and center field. "We have been growing a lot and improving a lot. And I think we will continue to improve." Softball returns to the diamond April 22 for a Indiana Northern State Conference battle at Knox.
