LAKEVILLE - LaVille volleyball played host to Oregon-Davis in a non-conference match on September 21. The Lancers and Bobcats fought back-and-forth all night, before LHS fell 3-1 to OD at Dale E. Cox Gymnasium. It was Senior Recognition night in Lakeville as the LaVille volleyball program recognized Lorelei Carey, Lily Voss, Charlee Gonzalez, and Sarah Tharp. Voss led coach Jennifer Higley's squad with 13 kills, 10 digs, and three aces. Junior Avery Lee helped out with 15 digs, 13 assists, seven kills, and three aces. Despite the loss it was a true team effort on offense. Higley's crew spread out 38 total kills between six players. Beyond Voss and Lee, Senior Sarah Tharp added six kills and sophomore Lily Conner four. While LaVille ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22. LaVille moves to 3-17 overall. LHS is scheduled to travel to Bremen for a Indiana Northern State Conference match September 24. In the junior varsity match, LaVille defeated Oregon-Davis 25-12, 25-20.
