LAKEVILLE - The LaVille softball team battled Culver Community before falling 13-5 in a non-conference game. Lexis Owens collected three hits and the duo of Grace McBride and Lexi McQueen added two each for the Lancers. "Culver is a pretty solid team with good coaching and to see our competitiveness during the game shows some good potential for the season," said LaVille coach Garrett McBride. "We need to continually improve our defense and take care of the ball and we will be competitive throughout the season."
